Home-made apple jam recipe ~ YUMMY!!

Actually I'm super lazy LOL so I barely cook. But after talking with Chiki-chan about the apple jam she made with her sister, I just felt like doing something new. Beside that I'm totally in love with every kind of jams ♥ so it results in this - Easy Home-made Apple Jam made by Usachan xD

I use the recipe from here: but changed something so this is MY own recipe:

- 1 kilogram of apple
- 600 grams of sugar
- 1 lemon
- 250 ml of water
- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon (powder)

- Wash apples, peel, remove seeds and cut the apple into slices, as thin as possible. Put them in the water with lemon juice and 200 grams sugar, cook in medium heat until the apples soften (about 5 minutes). Remove from the heat.
- Prepare the jar while waiting for apples to cool down. Put clean jar (without lid) into the microwave for about 3-5 mins to sterilize.
- Use a blender to puree the apple mixture. In case you don't have a blender, chop apple instead of slice them and cook till tender.
- Add the rest of sugar to the mix. Place the pan over heat and bring to a boil. Lower heat to maintain a steady simmer, skimming foam if necessary (actually I didn't :)) it's not something fatal lol). Cook in about an hour or more until the jam is ready. Stir cinnamon powder in apples and remove from the heat.
Tip: how to check if the jelly is ready: put a spoonful of jam on a cool plate and look for signs of it "wrinkling up" when you push it with your finger tip.If the jelly spreads out and thins immediately, it isn't ready. If it holds its shape a bit, that's a good sign. Push up against it with your finger tip. If the jelly sample wrinkles at all, it is time to take the jelly off the heat and pour it out into jars.
- Pour into clean glass jar and seal. If you make more than one jar and want to store them for long-time use, process the jars in a hot water bath for 10 minutes to help get a better seal and to help prevent mold.

The amount is to make one 750-millilitre jar of apple jam.

It's YUMMY~ I prepare breads for tomorrow's breakfast!

Hope that someone will find this post helpful ;)
